At Denver Picasso caught the attention of many breeders from Argentina, and we wound up selling the breeding possession and South American marketing rights on Picasso to Terra Garba. Picasso is now in South America. Raul Foretic handled the transaction. We still own the rights to Picasso in North America and the rest of the world. Picasso's first calves have ranged in birthweight from 79-92 lbs. He appears to be much more moderate for birth weight and calving ease than his current EPDs show him to be. His calves are as attractive and as sound as he is. We feel he is going to be a real gem of a breeding bull.
Picasso was the Grand Champion Performance Bull at the California State Fair, scoring the highest visual score of any bull of any breed in the show. Picasso was also the Reserve Grand Champion Bull at the Western Hereford Classic at Puyallup, WA. Picasso is about as perfect visually as you can get one. We think of him as "Functional Performance in a Work of Art!" That is why we decided to name him after Picasso, the most famous artist of the 20th century. He has an awesome array of super females in his pedigree. Picasso's dam was recently named a Dam of Distinction by the AHA.
