WNH Optima 517 9624
9624's photo, her EPDs, her pedigree and her performance record all
speak extremely well for her. JD&H Daisy M49H in her pedigree
was a full sister to Gold Seal Sire 5D&S Max 223. We thought
9624 was the best cow in our current herd, and her tragic death in April,
1999 was one of the biggest losses we have ever experienced. She
died of hardware disease. We surgically removed a large nail from
her but she died three days after the surgery. She did not eat for
about 10 days before delivering her 1999 calf, 9918. She died 5 days
after delivering the calf, so we have had to raise the calf on a bottle.
We tried unsuccessfully to flush her as a heifer in 1997. So
all we have left from her is her 1999 heifer calf which is a very good
one.
